Diane Carignan was one of the co-founders of People First of New Hampshire twenty-one years ago. Her long-time interest, involvement and leadership in the self-advocacy movement gave powerful strength to the organization. Her strong activism included speaking-up for her own rights as well as for the rights of others. She served many years as an elected officer for the board of directors and as an active member. She had been leader and elected officer for her local chapter, the Lakes Region Self-Advocacy Group. Diane was always willing and able to make positive connections for the benefit of People First of New Hampshire including her success with fundraising, organizing events, trainings and meetings, and, educating others about the importance of self-advocacy. She was also active on several other state committees and boards while maintaining a balance for her family and social life. Diane spoke her mind with great will and intent and always from her heart.
