Community Advisory Board (CAB) Overview:
The CAB functions as the eyes and ears of the public for The Maine Public Broadcasting Network (MPBN). We offer public input on possible programming changes, long term planning, and interest regarding certain programs under consideration. The CAB does not make programming, personnel, or financial decisions. MPBN looks to us to function primarily as a focus group and in that capacity we represent the listening/viewing audience’s opinions on various issues. CAB members are asked to reach out to their community to elicit opinions at least twice yearly on a variety of topics. The membership committee strives to find candidates to represent the geographic and demographic diversity of the MPBN audience and reviews the applications, makes recommendations to fill open positions and forwards these recommendations to the Board of MPBN for approval.
