1. Introduction

Thank you for your interest in YALSA's Virtual Mentoring program! If you haven't done so already, please visit http://tinyurl.com/YAmentoring to learn more about the program and to access a mentoring guide.

This program matches experienced/retired librarians with LIS graduate students/new librarians. This is a virtual mentoring program, so there is no requirement to meet face to face. All participants are required to devote 4 hours per month for a continuous 12 month period to the program.

Participants are strongly encouraged to design a project work on throughout the mentoring year with their protégé. Mentors are required to have 5 or more years of professional library experience.

Please note, due to the popularity of this program, YALSA may not be able to match all mentors who apply to the program.

To apply for this mentoring program please: 1) Complete this application 2) Return the mentoring reference form (found at the end of this application) to Nicole Gibby Munguia by April 30, 2013.

This application should take approximately 30 minutes. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Nicole Gibby Munguia at nmunguia@ala.org or 1-800-545-2433 ext. 5293.
