The Rivanna Conservation Society (RCS) Blue Ridge Mountain Sports (BRMS) are hosting the Rivanna River Sojourn. We will provide transportation, guides, safety measures, drinks, and snacks along the way. And, for those who would like to collect trash along the way, RCS will provide trash bags and disposal of collected debris.

Start Time: 8:30am - Meet at Palmyra DGIF Boat Launch for final safety briefing and transportation to the departure site. End Time: 1:30pm at Palmyra DGIF Boat Launch
REGISTRATION FEES – NOTE: 50% OF THE TOTAL FEE IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE!
$35 Adult - $25 Child (under 12)
REGISTRATION FEES WILL PROVIDE
- Kayaks/Canoes/Paddles/Personal flotation devices available (first come-first serve basis)
- Full Shuttle Service between launch and take-out site - your car will be waiting for you at the pull out site.
- Snacks, drinks and other refreshments
- A professionally guided paddle down the Rivanna River
- On-River Activities: Wildlife/birding, river exploration and/or clean-up
Paddlers will convene at the "Pull Out" site by 8:30am (this is so your car will be waiting for you at the end of the paddle. We will transport you to the "Put In" site at Crofton for a 9:00am departure. The Sojourn should conclude by 1:30pm
DIRECTIONS to the Palmyra Boat Launch: From Charlottesville take I-64 East toward Richmond. Take exit 136 for US-15 South toward Palmyra. Pass through the town of Palmyra and go over the bridge crossing the Rivanna River. Take the first right onto Rt. 53. Just past Two J's Smokehouse make a right at the faded brown sign indicating DGIF Boat Launch. Look for the RCS Event Sign.
