Welcome!

Praxis International, Manavi and the Office on Violence Against Women are pleased that you are applying to the Advocacy Learning Center, an eighteen-month experiential course created to examine the vision, identify the principles and knowledge and practice the skills that make advocacy a powerful force in the movement to end violence against women.

This course is open to advocacy organizations funded by the federal Office on Violence Against Women and to OVW-funded programs, tribal programs, and tribal state, and national coalitions and groups that play a critical role in supporting advocacy programs. A limited number of spaces may be made available to non-grantee advocacy programs.

Please note: Current and former ALC teams need to complete the Extended Placement application, you do not need to complete another application within Survey Monkey. Please contact Beth at advocacy@praxisinternational.org to obtain this application. Thank you.

Required Application Components:

1. Submit your completed online application.

2. Electronically submit a copy of your organizational chart, identifying where each team member fits within your organization. Send to advocacy@praxisinternational.org

3. Electronically submit your completed “Organizational and Team Member Commitment Statement” form (this form can be found on our website: www.praxisinternational.org). Send to: advocacy@praxisinternational.org
Please note: Your application will not be reviewed unless all three required application components have been received.

Application Suggestions:

• Please Note: This online application form does not have a “save” feature; you must complete this form and submit it at one time. An application worksheet is available to download from our website (www.praxisinternational.org). This downloadable worksheet allows you time to think about and make changes to your responses before actually submitting your application. Steps to follow to use the Word document application worksheet: (1) save a copy of the worksheet to your computer; (2) prepare answers about your program, the advocacy you provide and the team members you wish to send; and (3) copy your prepared text and paste it into this online form.

• Because this is not a typical training, but rather an extensive course designed for advocacy programs to reflect on, and possibly change policy and practice, we strongly encourage you to review the team member requirements included on our website: www.praxisinternational.org. Who you propose for your team is very important. We are happy to help you think through the ideal team membership for your program before you propose a team using the application form. Please call 651-699-8000 ext. 16 or email advocacy@praxisinternational.org to arrange a call.

• Please select your proposed team members before beginning your application. Each team member will need to answer advocacy and work-related questions as part of a personal statement.

Please feel free to contact us to discuss your proposed team membership if you have any questions at advocacy@praxisinternational.org or call 651-699-8000 ext. 16 (or review the FAQs on our website: Praxis International).
