Last year we sent out a survey asking each of you for intake type information for 2008. So that we can see trends this survey is asking for the same information for 2009. We will use this information to help us better explain to the public and government officials the challenges those of us in sheltering agencies are facing every day. Based on yoru responses to our first survey last year, we found that approximately 160,000 animals came into Alabama agencies in 2008, but only 40,000 found homes. This survey is to help us see what happened in 2009.

There are only four main questions and five optional questions in this survey and all responses will be kept confidential. Only two questions require an answer - for the type of agency and intake numbers for 2009.
