1. Sports Anti-Doping Research Study
Dear Athlete or Coach,
We would like to invite you to participate in a research study which is being conducted by researchers from Griffith University and James Cook University. This study is supported by the Australian Government through the Anti-Doping Research Program of the Department of Health and Ageing.
The aim of the study is to examine the attitudes of elite athletes and coaches towards doping in sport.
In this study we will be asking elite athletes and coaches a series of questions about their attitudes and awareness of performance enhancing and recreational drugs.
An elite athlete is defined as a person who has played competitive sport at a regional, state or national level. An elite coach is one who has coached an athlete or team competing at regional, state or national level.
Your participation in this study is voluntary. You are free to decline to participate or to withdraw from participating at any stage.
Participation involves completing an online questionnaire (a printed version is also available) and should take approximately 10-15 minutes. You will not be required to identify yourself at any stage.
The data from the study will be used in research publications, in reports to interested organisations and in conference presentations. Your responses will be strictly confidential. You (and your club) will not be identified in any way in these publications or presentations.
