Re-veg.net.au is a forest management project that has been funded by the Australian Government’s Caring for our Country funding round. The project encompasses six east coast catchment groups ranging from the NSW border to Bloomfield in the North.
Re-veg.net.au will enable landholders in coastal catchments to confidently manage their forest land for multiple objectives, providing both point of operation and downstream environmental benefits, diversifying income opportunities, and improving the long-term resilience of our landscape.
Basic forest management requires knowledge of optimal stocking densities, tree health, fire management and systems of agricultural integration. Planted forest establishment and management requires knowledge of appropriate species for the site and the purpose, weed management, methods of site preparation, and infrastructure requirements. Furthermore, the design and planning process is essential to optimising the benefits of forest cover in your overall production system.
By completing the Forest Management survey, you are helping us to design an extension and education program relevant to the needs of landholders in your region. The survey will also help us to gain a better understanding of current forest management activities in your region. The information that you provide in the survey will be kept in confidence and only passed on with your explicit permission. Your details will be used to assess your eligibility for the incentive program; to contact you regarding upcoming events; and to assist you with property management planning should you continue with the program.
Your participation in this survey is greatly appreciated and will help us to provide you with the skills and information that you require for the sustainable management of your forest resource.
