A clearer directed time budget so that I work no more than 1265 hours directed by the head teacher (pro-rata for part time teachers)
A limit to the amount of undirected time that I work
All teachers to be allocated PPA time calculated as 20 per cent of their timetabled teaching time (40 per cent for teachers in their 1st year of teaching)
Enforceable limits to class sizes for all age groups
All teachers with leadership and management responsibilities to be provided with leadership and management time of at least 10 per cent of their teaching timetable during school session times.
Less burdensome requirements for planning and assessment
Effective limits to the number of times I am observed in the classroom
An entitlement for every teacher to a paid secondment of at least a term every 7 years to pursue his or her professional development or achieve further qualifications
All teachers to have access to at least an additional two days of funded INSET per year outside the school but within the school day
All teachers to have a right to reasonable flexible working arrangements
Meetings to be scheduled immediately after school session times to avoid 'trapped time'
