The draft objectives of the Rural Housing Interest Group might be set out as:
• Strengthen the focus of planners and associated professionals across the UK on working within and for rural communities to meet housing needs
• Strengthen links with other professional bodies and stakeholders concerned with rural housing to enable exchange of information, celebration of best practice and promotion of solutions to the meeting of needs
• Develop evidence and promote awareness of the role that rural housing can have in delivering more effective, inclusive and sustainable rural regeneration and economic development
• Contribute to the collective processes that debate and enhance policy on rural housing provision
• Deliver Member benefits through multi-disciplinary CPD and discussion events, highlighting the expertise that rural housing protagonists can contribute and thereby encourage greater co-operation
• Offer potential collaboration on outreach and influencing programmes for meeting rural housing needs
