Alternative Massage Services

 

The City of Hamilton is proposing to license businesses that conduct, “Alternative Massage Services” (Wellness or Complementary Health Related Services). "Alternative Massage Services" are defined as other types of non-sexual massage or touch conducted by non-registered massage therapists (i.e. hot stone massage, shiatsu, Indian head massage, reflexology etc.) We are interested in regulating businesses who offer these types of services for health and safety reasons, consumer protection, and to establish consistent regulations, so they can be formally recognized in the City of Hamilton.
