FWC Alligator Statute Review Survey
The FWC is embarking on a comprehensive review of all alligator-related statutes (state laws, not Commission rules). Most of these laws were established in 1987 and have not been substantially reviewed since then. You can review these statutes by downloading a copy of the Alligator Management Regulations Booklet
(see pages 21 through 29).
After 25 years of intensive management of the alligator resource, FWC staff believe many of the policies, or parts thereof, should be Commission rules; should be streamlined or clarified; or eliminated if they are obsolete. Any statute change proposal that might develop from this endevor would be presented as part of FWC's Legislative Package, and would occur no earlier than the 2015 Legislative Session.
We appreciate you providing us your feedback through this survey. If you have any questions or comments that you'd like to provide outside of this survey, please don't hesitate to contact the Alligator Management Program Coordinator, Harry J. Dutton, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 850.617.9505.
