The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) and the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies (AMWA) are conducting this brief survey to ask how Hurricane Sandy affected your utility’s physical assets and/or operations.

We understand that some of you may be still assessing the damage and that it may not be possible at this time to respond. Recognizing this, we are asking that respondents complete as much of the survey as possible. Information collected through the survey will help us better explain to policymakers in Washington, D.C. how extreme weather events impact water and wastewater systems, as well as help us advocate for legislation and policies to enhance utility and community resiliency.

Please complete the survey by Friday, December 28, 2012. All responses will remain confidential and to the extent there is a need to share specific information we will seek your approval first. If you have any questions, please contact Hannah Mellman at hmellman@nacwa.org or Dan Hartnett at hartnett@amwa.net.

Thank you for your assistance in this effort, and we greatly appreciate the important work you have done to keep our waters clean and safe during these extraordinarily challenging circumstances.
