Possible Epworth Pre-K Survey

1. The preschool at Epworth, presently called Epworth Parent's Morning Out (Epworth PMO), is considering expanding to contain a private, part-time Pre-K alternative for the 2010-2011 school year. The name will be changed to reflect the institution's role as a school, and may serve children at 4 different age levels. We are writing to determine if there is neighborhood interest in an affordable, PT, private Pre-K alternative at Epworth. Do you have a child who will be 4 by September 1? Or, do you have a child who will turn 4 shortly after September 1? We do not have to be strict with the age cutoff.

5. Pre-K would operate for exactly 4 hours per day. Please think of the times you are shuttling other children to Lin or elsewhere. All other Epworth classes exist from 9:30am to 1:30pm. However, Pre-K could operate just off of this schedule, which would actually be smarter for arrival/dismissal. Would you rather see Pre-K operate 9-1, 9:30-1:30, or 10-2?

6. Would you be willing to do a carpooling "drop off" in the mornings, and then a "walk in" for pickup? We feel drop off is important so that teachers can begin the instructional day immediately. We know they can't settle children in and talk to parents at the same time. Additionally, we know that you do want to see the teachers. Doing so at the end of the day would not interfere with instruction and would provide for a fun ~5 minute daily chat.

9. Would you join a PTO, and attend periodic meetings? Would you take on a significant position, such as Fundraising Chair, Building & Grounds Chair, Room Parent, Web Designer, or Meet-n-Greet Chair? We do not exist as a co-op, but parent participation is what keeps costs low.
