Draft Food Allergy Measures Submitted For AAAAI Member Comment

As part of a Presidential Initiative of Wesley Burks, MD, FAAAAI, the AAAAI is developing a Practice Improvement Module (PIM) on diagnosing and treating food allergies. Once complete, this important tool will be offered as a service to members.

To develop the PIM, the AAAAI must first identify or develop quality performance measures that represent evidence-based recommendations reflecting the highest standard of care. A group of AAAAI food allergy experts have been working with other AAAAI members experienced with measures development to create a set of measures based on the NIAID-sponsored Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Food Allergy in the United States.*

Your feedback will help to determine which of the proposed measures will be included in the PIM and which need to be revised to better serve you and your patients.

For each draft measure below you are asked if you approve, disapprove, or approve with modifications the use of the draft measure for the development of the PIM. At the bottom of the list of measures there is a place to enter any additional comments or feedback you would like to provide. You are also welcome to suggest any additional measures you think should be considered.

Thank you for your time and effort in reviewing these quality measures to be used in the development of an important resource and tool for the diagnosis and care of food allergies.

This confidential survey will remain open until Thursday, September 13. If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact AAAAI staff at measures@aaaai.org.
