PALOMA Conference 2013 Presentation Proposals
1. CONFERENCE THEME - The Landscape of Diversity: Changes, Shifts, and Possibilities
The purpose of the PALOMA conference is to bring together individuals from a variety of professions in higher education to provide professional development and resources addressing multiculturalism, diversity, and social justice issues in Pennsylvania.
At this year's conference, we are soliciting presentation proposals germane to the following areas: diversity/multicultural/intercultural affairs, gender/women affairs, residential life, student activities, affirmative action, academic affairs, admissions, and community affairs. Given the recent suggestions made by members, we hope to receive proposals that would also focus on campus bias, student advocacy, developing allies, campus programming, supporting multilingual and international students, assessments, creating safe spaces, faculty recruitment and retention, mentoring programs, pre-orientation programs and grant writing.
The conference will take place July 9-11, 2013 at the Eden Resort Inn and Suites, Lancaster, PA www.edenresort.com
