1. Background
The Athel Pine National Best Practice Management Manual was launched and distributed by the National Athel Pine Management Committee in April / May 2009. Further copies are available at http://www.weeds.org.au/WoNS/athelpine/.
This manual brings together the best management practices available at the date of publication on control options for athel pine, tamarisk and smallflower tamarisk. It also illustrates successful control programs with case studies that demonstrate how these weeds can be managed effectively in Australia.
The National Athel Pine Management Committee would now appreciate your feedback on the Manual and the practices documented within it. The information gained will be used to develop additional material on the management of athel pine and other Tamarix species as well as contribute to future reviews of the Manual
