About the Farm to School Program and Why this Survey is Important

Increasing connections between local schools and area farmers, to improve nutrition and support local agriculture, is the focus of the USDA Farm to School initiative. In order to increase the amount of locally grown, farm fresh, fruits and vegetables purchased and served by our schools, we have created this survey.

We want to learn directly from farmers about the challenges and rewards of participating in a farm to school program and the reasons why farmers may not be participating.

This survey was developed for Connecticut farmers, by the Farm Fresh New London County Schools Advisory Council. It should take approximately 10 minutes for you to complete. For your time, we will enter you in a drawing for a $150 gift certificate. Individual responses will not be shared. Instead, responses will be aggregated without identifying individual farms or farmers. The information will be used to develop of a five-year plan to improve farm to school programs across the state and guide the work of local Farm to School Coordinators, Food Corp members and advocacy groups.
