*What is the Class Gift?

The Class Gift represents the united effort of the Class to give back to Rensselaer. It gives us the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy on the Institute that will be remembered for many years into the future.

Some examples of previous year’s gifts are:

Class of 2010 – Union Green Roof
Class of 2009 – Lounge in the Student Union Games Room
Class of 2008 – Electronic Carillon Bells on top of Union
Class of 2007 – Redesign of the 15th Street Footbridge (In Progress)
Class of 2005 – Waterfall located in Common’s Quad on Freshman Hill
Class of 1887 – The ’87 Gymnasium (donated on the class’ 25th anniversary)
Class of 1886 – The ’86 field (donated on the class’ 25th anniversary)

*Choosing the Class of 2012 Class Gift?

Currently the Class is accepting ideas for the Class of 2012 Class Gift

The Student Council organizes the Class Gift by electing a Class Gift Chair, but it is ultimately up to you what we will choose as the Class Gift. This is your opportunity to show your class pride by making an improvement or contribution to our Alma Mater. We would like as many people’s input as possible to assure that the Class’s ideas are heard. Remember this is YOUR gift and it can be whatever you would like.
