Part of Florida Campus Compact’s (FL|CC) mission is to foster the development of college students so that all will graduate with a broader understanding of community engagement and civic responsibility.

The 2012 Student Scholars’ Institute, held in Tallahassee, Florida, February 26-28 2012, will give a limited number of students a chance to directly connect with their government in more personal and meaningful ways. Selected participants will have unique opportunities to interact with policy makers, elected officials, and dignitaries. Students will explore how government policies influence their lives regardless of their area of study or future role in the workforce.

This Institute is geared for NEW participants; however, returning attendees may apply and their names will be placed on a waiting list. If space is available after new applicant selections, returning attendees will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.

In order to be considered, all applicants must:
1. Be at least 18 years of age and enrolled as a full time student in a college or university in Florida.
2. Complete all sections of this online application by January 6, 2012.
3. Have an instructor or campus administrator email a brief letter of recommendation to michael@floridacompact.org, no later than January 6, 2012.

This online application should take approximately 30-40 minutes to complete. Once you begin the application, you will not be able to save and continue later, so plan ahead to complete the application in one sitting. The questions are available for viewing ahead of time on our website, http://www.ssi.floridacompact.org.

If you have any questions or encounter any technical issues completing the application, please contact Mike Norris at michael@floridacompact.org or 850-488-7782.
