2010 Committees Descriptions

2011 Conference Planning Committee – organizes and plans the Annual NCHN Conference. This includes selection of dates and location for the 2012 conference, development of the theme and workshops to support the theme, and overall management of the 2011 conference. The committee meets at least monthly, the second Thursday at 12:30 PM ET and more often if needed. The Vice-President chairs the committee.

Awards Committee -- promotes the NCHN Awards Program. The Committee will encourage members to nominate their peers for the designated award categories, review the selection criteria and make recommendations for revisions as needed to the Board of Directors, review the nominations and make recommendations on award winners, following established selection criteria, and assist with the Awards Luncheon at the 2011 Annual Conference. The Committee will also explore the possibility of expanding the awards program and will make recommendations for new categories to the Board of Directors.

By-Laws Committee - reviews the Association’s current By-Laws and Policies and makes recommendations, as needed; on by-law revisions or policy development, and assist with the education of the membership on the proposed changes. Restated/Amended By-Laws were approved at the 2007 Annual meeting. Two additional amendments were approved at the 2010 Annual Meeting. During 2010 the Committee will review the NCHN Policy and Procedure Manual. The Committee will determine their meeting schedule and will meet as needed.

Certification Development Program Committee – will continue the work the Board of Directors started in 2008 to develop a “Network Leader Certification Program.” During 2010, the Eligibility Requirements will be determined and a plan for Test Development will be finalized. The committee will determine their meeting schedule. Monthly meetings are anticipated.

NCHN/NRHA Collaborative Project Committee - Manages NRHA agreement that is designed to support rural health networks, by building successful network leaders. The specific goals of the committee are:
o Management of the NCHN Executive Coaching Program, which links new and experienced network leaders;
o Collaborate with the Rural Assistance Center (RAC On-Line) to update and manage the Network Section on their website that includes best practices, stories, and/or policy updates, specific to rural health networks; and
o Collection and submission of at least 10 success stories during 2010.

Additional tasks may be identified and implemented after August 2010. Committee will determine their meeting schedule and will meet as needed.

Program Development Committee - review's the Association’s programs and services, make recommendations for new program and/or services; coordinate the quarterly membership calls; manage the Business Partners Program; and assists with the education of the membership on program changes and introduction of new programs and services. The Salary and Benefit Survey will be conducted during 2010. The committee meets on the third Tuesday at 1:00 PM ET

Regional Meeting Committee - manages the regional meetings; including selection of dates and location for the 2011 regional meeting(s), development of the topic focus, identification of speaker(s) to support the topic, and overall management of the 2010 Regional Meetings. This Committee will determine their meeting schedule.
