The Library Student Advisory Committee invites you to participate in this research survey about your spending priorities for the University Libraries. This information will be used to help our libraries better meet our needs. Please allocate up to $100,000 across the items you wish to fund. We appreciate your help.

1. Purchase a tool to improve searching across e-resources, such as articles and databases. Cost: $25,000

2. Insure long-term preservation of local digital collections, e.g., the digital archives of computer scientists Herb Simon and Allen Newell, the Posner Collection, Pittsburgh Jewish Newspapers. Estimated cost: $10,000 annually.

3. Build new Group Study Room(s). Estimated cost: $50,000 per room

4. Contribute to the cost of a new creative workspace with new high-tech equipment and multimedia software, e.g., video creation and editing, audio creation and editing, graphics, geotagging, e-portfolios. Estimated cost: $250,000.

5. Renovate library employee work spaces to optimize efficiency, privacy, etc. Estimated cost: $70,000.

6. Hire a marketing consultant to increase awareness of library collections and services. Estimated cost: $20,000.
