This year, for the second year running, Network Rail curtailed pay talks and imposed a substandard pay award on it's management grade staff. Nominally it is worth 2.5% (less than half the award to operations grades). However, it is being distributed by the discredited PRP system.

Network Rail is still refusing to negotiate with your union over this imposed pay award. Consequently the TSSA will shortly be balloting its management grade members on industrial action.

However, while we are organising to win an improved pay award, we are also determined to understand what has happened with the imposed award. We want to know for example, whether there is even a nominal correlation between pay and performance.

One of our pay demands was that the company publish data as to the pay their staff actually get paid for the different jobs in the company. This would be one step towards everyone knowing what the rate for different jobs is (and the difference in pay between the highest and lowest earner doing the same job).

You can help us win fair pay for all by completing this pay survey. It will help to provide us with data the company refuses to share with us.

Please also ask colleagues who are not in the union to complete this survey. The more people who complete the survey the more statistically relevant it will be.
