Since 4/14/09: Barnes & Noble's Future: 7 Quick Questions

1. B&N's Future: 7 Quick Questions

I launched this survey just before attending a 12-person luncheon with B&N Chairman Leonard Riggio at NYU Stern on Tuesday, April 14, 2009.

I've now decided to leave the survey open in case you have time to take it. Thanks in advance!

I'll report results to Mr. Riggio and on my marketing blog, http://www.hudsonprospect.com.

Cheers,

P.S.: In some questions, I ask for amounts that are less than (<) certain numbers. Please choose the highest number that's closest to your estimate (i.e., choose <30 for 25, even though 25 is less than 100 :o)

P.P.S.: All answers are anonymous, and I've disabled "IP address" recording - there's no way to tie your answers to you, so please be candid :o)

1. What items do you typically buy at Barnes & Noble?

2. How much do you spend per month at Barnes & Noble?

3. What percent of the money you spend at B&N goes toward gifts?

4. How many books will you read in an electronic format rather than on paper, within the next year (i.e., using an e-book reader, smart phone, or other device)?

5. Which demographic characteristics describe you? Please be assured that I (David McClintock) have NO way to identify who you are - please answer honestly! It's anonymous.

6. How much money did you spend online last year, on barnesandnoble.com ONLY? In the comment field, please compare that amount versus your spending on Amazon.com and other online booksellers.

7. What items, services, or experiences will you ALWAYS consume at Barnes & Noble, even as paper products go digital? What new items, services, or experiences (i.e., books you can order and print within one hour) can you imagine consuming at Barnes & Noble?
