1. About this Survey

The following is an exploratory survey to generate feedback about the experience of users of FindBugs. We would like to understand the value that FindBugs brings to the software development process, and what obstacles prevent its adoption. The data collected confidentially through this survey will be used to identify more specific areas for future research. If you have any questions, please contact Nat Ayewah ayewah@cs.umd.edu

Confidentiality: We will do our best to keep your personal information confidential. To help protect your confidentiality: (1) your name will not be included on the surveys or other collected data; (2) a code will be placed on the survey and other collected data; (3) through the use of an identification key, the researcher will be able to link your survey to your identity; and (4) only the researcher will have access to the identification key. If we write a report or article about this research project, your identity will be protected to the maximum extent possible. Data collected will only be accessible to members of the research team and will be deleted when the research is completed. Once you complete the survey, you will be asked to close your browser to ensure your responses are kept confidential.

Do I have to be in this research? Your participation in this research is completely voluntary. You may choose not to take part at all. If you decide to participate in this research, you may stop participating at any time. If you decide not to participate in this study or if you stop participating at any time, you will not be penalized or lose any benefits to which you otherwise qualify.
