Which scenario is more typical when you require photo-realism: Realism and materials mirror the modeling work flow with multiple iterations during the conceptual design stage.

Rendering is typically done at the final stages of design are finalized.

What capability best suits your workflow: Separate Rendering Product (Current PhotoView 360 implementation) Initial appearances are assigned in SolidWorks but subsequent material edits are made in PhotoView 360. This solution allows the user to run PhotoView 360 without running SolidWorks and provides a user experience that focuses only on rendering.

Integrated Rendering Product (like PhotoWorks but using PhotoView 360 integrated technology) All initial appearance assignment and subsequent edits are accomplished in the SolidWorks window with a dynamic preview and final render. This solution allows the user to validate any change to the model (geometry or appearance) in the rendering without running a separate application.
