My name is Brandon Harrington. Many of you know me as that whacky conservative kid on campus. For those of you that don't, I am the one you hear stories about. This is my first semester at Andover Newton, and I have loved every minute of my hectic 5 class schedule; not to mention planning a wedding with my fiance who lives here on campus with me. I am a recent graduate of The Virginia Military Institute, with a B.A in International Studies. I am a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army, and upon graduation from Andover Newton, will be an Army chaplain. My hobbies include swimming, reading, watching movies, playing WoW, and long walks on the beach. I am a decent student, but an even better problem solver. I am interested in the position of Vice President because I believe that when something means alot to you, you get involved. Even though I have only been here at Andover Newton for a short time, it already means alot to me. Thank you for your consideration.
My name is Tim Trussell-Smith and I am a first year, full-time M.Div student. I am 25 years old, from Georgia and have been married for 2 years. I have already gotten involved in fellowship and worship activities on campus--especially with UUCANS & BGLANTS. Within a few weeks of arriving on campus I began to consider taking on a leadership position such as this in the future because I am very interested in the well-fare of ANTS and especially on the welfare of my fellow students. I feel that I would be able to contribute in many ways to SA and to life at ANTS. Leadership is something I have always been drawn to and I have always done well in positions of leadership. Throughout high school and college I served as an officer for various organizations; most notably, I served as treasurer of my college fraternity--managing a budget of over 25,000 dollars. I was also the first treasurer in 3+ years to run a balanced budget for the chapter (largely due to more effective collection of outstanding debt). However, my best skill-set has always been people skills. I believe I am a good listener and a superior problem solver and mediator and it is mainly for these reasons that I feel called to run for VP. Being a liaison to the campus fellowships seems like a perfect role for my personality and skill-set.
