We are conducting a short survey as part of the TIGER Initiative focused on better preparing nurses and nursing students to use technology within their practice environment to deliver safer patient care. We are looking to assemble examples of field-based nursing education that prepares nurses to use all forms of technology and information systems. These examples might teach general computer and informatics skills, teach how to use a specific system/technology solution, or teach others how to be mentors/facilitators. We are looking for all forms of innovative field-based educational programs, regardless of who is providing the education--e.g., nursing staff/professional development, vendors, information services, colleagues in a peer-to-peer network, and so forth. Our goal is to collect and share learnings from these examples with other nurses.
