NM Family/Parent Involvement Survey

SURVEY DIRECTIONS/DEFINITIONS

This survey repeatedly mentions “parents” and parental involvement. Any references should be taken generally to include the adults who play an important role in the child’s family life, since other adults—grandparents, aunts, uncles, step-parents, guardians—may have primary responsibility for a child’s education, development, and well-being.

You will also notice the mention of Dr. Joyce Epstein’s framework. Dr. Epstein is a nationally known expert in working with family and school partnerships. Her model is commonly used in New Mexico.
