Understanding the Impacts of My Research on a Diverse Society
Thursday, October 8, 2009
6:00-8:30 p.m. (Dinner will be served.)
East and West Conference Rooms at Rackham, University of Michigan
• Does your research project impact issues of equity?
• How does your research affect different stakeholders?
• How well does your research reflect the viewpoints of all groups, including underrepresented ones?
• How have you incorporated diverse perspectives into the design of your research?
• How might these voices be heard in the decision-making process?
• How accessible is the outcome of your research, particularly if it produces a product?
• How might your research support different populations?
This interactive workshop will help you think through the social justice issues imbedded in these questions and more. You do not need to have a particular research project in mind to participate.
