1. About CSAPP and the Substance Abuse Services Resource Guide
The City of New Haven Commission on Substance Abuse Policy and Prevention (CSAPP) was created in order to improve the quality of life in New Haven by reducing substance abuse and its related harms through prevention strategies, policy efforts, and social marketing. We work to learn more about the problem at the local level, and to raise awareness and engage the New Haven community on substance abuse issues.
One way that we work towards realizing our mission is to make helpful substance abuse resources on prevention and recovery available to New Haven residents. Our Substance Abuse Services Resource Guide is a listing of over 50 substance abuse and mental health services available in the New Haven area.
We hope that the CSAPP Resource Guide will be useful to families, individuals, and private and public service providers. Parents seeking treatment for their children can turn to the guide for suggestions. Individuals who may not feel comfortable asking for help may use the Resource Guide to learn about their options for advice and treatment. People working in helping professions who do not specialize in substance abuse services, such as social workers, doctors, nurses, teachers, police officers, and many other areas can refer to the guide when assisting clients, employees, patients, and students.
We need your help to update the CSAPP Resource Guide regularly to ensure the dissemination of accurate, up-to-date information on substance abuse services in New Haven. Please inform us of any inadvertent errors or omissions, and we will be sure to make the appropriate changes to this guide.
