A joint survey by Highlights for Children and Glubble for Families

1. Introduction

Your Kids and the Internet

Glubble, the leading online activity center for families with children under 12, and Highlights Magazine, the most recognizable and widely-read children’s magazine in the nation, are partnering to encourage parents to get more involved in the online lives of their children 12 and under. Highlights and Glubble invite parents to take a survey exploring their children’s online activities and parental involvement.
When we asked you about your kids and computers, most of you were enthusiastic, but felt the Internet needed to be monitored. As one parent said “A good way to do this is to take an interest in children’s use of websites and have them show you what they have created… Make sure they understand the rules are for safety purposes.”

With the rapid changes in the Internet and kids’ access, we’re asking you to share your responses to these 7 questions.

1. Do your kids use the Internet on their own?

2. Have you had a conversation with your child about online safety issues?

3. Do your kids use the Internet with you?

4. Do you know what sites your kids are visiting?

5. How do you find and identify sites that are appropriate for your kids?

6. What else would you like to share about your family's use of the Internet?

7. How old are your kids (check all that apply)?
