Community Conversation
Community Conversation will be the focus of Thursday’s Project Innovation program, the Economic Development Council of Collier County’s initiative to create and execute a plan for economic sustainability. The program, entitled “Preparing for Global Competition,” is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club. The featured presenter is Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, Dan Grech, the first Marketplace Americas Desk report for National Public Radio.
During this session the EDC will also hold a community conversation; “Tough questions have been asked and the uncertainty of the economic future of Collier County is being addressed. Throughout Project Innovation the community has asked for change, now is the time that the community needs to come together and help lead Collier County into a competitive, diversified economy,” stated William O’Neill, EDC Chairman.
For the first time, this session will include anonymous electronic polling of the audience. Each participant will receive a device that records his or her response on various questions and topics. Input will serve not only to shape the future Project Innovation sessions, but will put ideas into action and make the economic vision for Collier County a reality.
As a preview, we’ve listed a few of those questions here. Weigh in. Tell us what you think.
