Although we have not had as much time to consult with our clients in the development of a new Library Website as we would have liked, the University of Winnipeg Library is developing a new Website for September 2009.
We are recruiting volunteers to review the new Website (or particular aspects of the new Website) and provide their feedback.
While we expect to use formal research methods to better gauge opinions, we consider our investigation to be part of internal assessment. Nevertheless, we will follow professional research protocols and will do our best to protect your identity in relation to the data you provide during these internal assessments. Further, we will not publish the results of our findings publicly, but will use them to make more informed decisions as we finalize our development for a September launch of the new Library Web site.
At this juncture, we would appreciate if you would complete our recruitment survey ( http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=jiukVDrYGvvfB6SMFGsKTg_3d_3d) and volunteer to review our new site and we (various team leaders associated with the development of the new site) will contact you for more specific review activities shortly (in the next couple weeks before the end of August).
In the future, we may conduct other assessments as part of a more formal research regime, but we will make it clear when we are doing so.
Thank you for taking the time to consider volunteering for the Library Web site review. If you should have any questions or comments, please contact Michael Hohner, Library Systems & IT Services Coordinator, at 786-9812 or Linda Dietrick, Acting University Librarian, at 786-9801.
