The Rich Murray Volunteer Service Scholarship recognizes a St. Cloud State University student each year who has demonstrated a commitment of giving through volunteerism while a student at St. Cloud State University. This may be service with an established organization, or individual acts of service over a significant period of time.

This $500 scholarship is made possible by a generous gift from Richard E. Murray, former director of SCSU Career Services. Mr. Murray started this scholarship because he believes in three basic ideals:

1. The value of education;
2. The value of giving back a little of what has been given; and,
3. The belief that everyone will need the help of others at some time.

Scholarship Eligibility and Requirements:

• Any St. Cloud State University student, undergraduate or graduate is eligible to apply.
• Previous recipients of this scholarship are not eligible to apply.
• Only service activities done while a student at St. Cloud State University will be recognized.
• Completion of the Rich Murray Scholarship 2010 Application form along with the SCSU
Co-curricular transcript and two letters of recommendation.
• Internship, scholarship or fellowship experience will not receive as much weight on CCT as service that is above and beyond academic requirements.
