YSC setup teachers survey

As you will probably know The Ri is a charity for the celebration of science through research, education and communication. One of our key aims is to engage the public with the role of science, technology and innovation in everyday life.

These are exciting times for us especially with the eagerly awaited launch of the Young Scientists’ Centre (YSC) in summer this year. The YSC is a unique concept in the UK, if not the world. It aims to be a laboratory with state of the art facilities providing bespoke hands-on experimental opportunities for students.

Engaging students and improving their attainment and participation in science courses is a key issue that the YSC wishes to address. The centre will be available for all schools to hire, free of charge. There is also a drive amongst our funding bodies for us to provide a lasting effect in schools particularly amongst their science teachers.
