The Conley Bridge offers easy height and angle adjustments especially helpful for individuals with limited motion & control. A raised lip on the edges prevent slippage of material. Forearm support limits fatigue and maximizes endurance. Support leg lengths can be set to different heights to accommodate uneven surfaces. Leg lengths will be offered as may be required by the user.
The fixture has been developed as a portable assistive positioning aid for persons needing or requiring a portable work area for assistive technology products or other, that is adjustable as to height and angle while providing work stability and upper body support for the user that collapses easily for storage. Initially developed as an aid for work by the inventor due to upper body weakness due to MS (Multiple Sclerosis) for positioning of a keyboard at a computer. It has been modified in its design to be used as the user may require.
· Currently offered portable support devices, work stands, are lacking the universal positioning features offered by our product.
· Typically used over bed hospital tables are designed primarily for the caregiver and do not provide a comfortable workspace for the user.
· Slant boards are adjustable for height or angle, but are for use on a flat surface as on table or desk. Placement of these devices on a users lap becomes unstable, and awkward for persons with upper body limitations.
· Pillow stands lack adjustability and due to overall size may be difficult to store.
