Ohio Promising Practices for Wellness and Nutrition

1. Ohio Promising Practices for Wellness

Promising Practices is a Web-based tool for collecting and presenting a wide range of nutrition and wellness promotion activities, projects and programs that schools and child care facilities and their communities are conducting throughout the Ohio. Such programs are recognized for their contribution to supporting learning, work and community environments.

Promising Practices is designed to be a dynamic, ongoing source of new ideas, with no deadline for submittal and frequent updates.

Promising Practices may be contributed by any individual, group or agency that has implemented a child nutrition education, child and family wellness, or physical fitness program in Ohio.

Submittals are selected by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) staff for presentation and posting on the Promising Practices Web site at ode.state.oh.gov. Click here to view the Web site, which also presents a link to state wellness guidelines and lists evaluation criteria.

To submit an entry to Promising Practices, complete and submit this online form. If online submittal is not feasible, entries may be submitted by mail to the address shown in Section 5, Question 8 of the form.

There is no limit to the number of practices that can be submitted; however, each entry must be submitted on a separate form.

By completing and submitting this form, you must agree to provide permission for ODE and other schools to contact you for further information, and consent to sharing the information on the ODE Web site.
