To James Lileks:

I have read your description of The QOR website, and I have looked at some or all of The QOR Samples.

I would have no objection to paying a reasonable price for well-selected, nicely packaged, advertising-free content on the Web if the content was useful to me, entertaining, informative or educational, and it was content that I might not otherwise read, see or hear without significant searching on my part.

I would be willing to pay up to $0.75 a day for the kind of selected creative content to be featured by The QOR and to consider becoming a member of The QOR community you have described.

I would like to be able to go to an advertising-free website to get the kind of selected creative content The QOR will feature.

Response:

I would be pleased to know that a fair portion of my payment for membership in The QOR community would go to those free-lance writers and others who created the content I found there.

Response:

I would like to be able to enjoy reading, watching and listening to The QOR content in a quietly elegant, even luxurious onscreen setting, much like the reading room in an exclusive, private club, and not to find political or ideological, or deliberately offensive, content there (I can find that kind of content elsewhere).
