1. Should PSD Secondary Schools offer a transition day for their incoming students on August 16, 2010?

Background: Due to the configuration change in school year 2009-2010, the first day of the first semester (August 17, 2009) was set aside for transition activities to meet the needs of the 66% of new middle school students and the 50% of new high school students. Next year, 33% of middle school students and 25% of high school students will be new to their schools. Additionally, a transition day is not counted as an instructional day for CDE requirements. Some minor changes may have to be made to individual secondary school schedules to ensure CDE instructional hour requirements are met.
