GLOBAL ART and ANTIQUE DEALERS' SURVEY

GLOBAL ART and ANTIQUE DEALERS'SURVEY

I have been commissioned by TEFAF to carry out a survey entitled The Global Art Market in 2010, which is designed to provide an important benchmark of the art market over the last three years. This annual report (produced by Arts Economics and published by TEFAF) represents the most authoritative and comprehensive data on the global art market available, and is quoted regularly in the art and financial press as well as being used for important political lobbying to further the aims of the art trade.

I appreciate that filling out a questionnaire requires time and effort, so I do apologise for adding to your workload. The results of this survey will be aggregated with data on the auction market and form a critical part of the report. Your participation plays a vital part in ensuring that the substantial role played by dealers in the international art market is properly recognised. Could you please fill out the following questionnaire as fully as possible and return it by October 15th.

All participants in the survey will be entitled to receive a free and advance printed copy of the report. If you would like a copy of the report, please include an email or postal address at the end of the survey. Please do no hesitate to call or email me to answer any questions you may have on the survey, the questionnaire and your participation. To maximize the usefulness of this report to the art trade, I would urge your full participation.

Confidentiality: This survey is strictly confidential and anonymous. Answers will be combined with those of other dealers and analyzed only by the research team at Arts Economics. The aggregated results will be presented on a country-by-country basis and no reference or connection will be made from the information you provide here to your individual business. Only aggregate data will be presented in the final report, and no individual answers or other information will ever be published or in any other way made publicly available.

Many thanks for your participation.
