Alex (2)
By Keith R.

Alex
she made lemonade so cold and so sweet
she would help all kids it was quite a feat
she never ever wined nor did she complain
everyone thought her plan was insane
and now she'd be laughing if she could
see this sight of what everyone thought
but now it is a feat

Alex Did Something Neat

Alex did something neat
As neat as a summer treat
It was lemonade, icy cold
Profits went up ten-fold
All for kids in need, how sweet?

And So I’ll Make a Difference
By: Deni T.

Little baby, beautiful,
I can cure a bloody nose;
I can keep away the scorn;
I can give you a rose
And kiss you when you touch a thorn.
But little baby, beautiful,
This has made me scared,
Because I just can’t cure this,
Don’t think I never cared.

I love you, baby, beautiful,
I’d give it all for you;
And so I’ll make a difference,
I’ll make it just for you.

So little baby, little beauty,
You can live a happy life.
Long and full of ventures
No longer full of strife.

Awesome Alex
By Analise F.

Alex was a fun young gal,
And sweet with high spirits as well
One day she got sick and her parents soon found out
She
Had
Cancer.
Little Alex wanted to find a cure!
And wanted to find it very quick!

But alas, that required money, so how could she do it?
" I know " said Alex, " I'll make lemonade to raise the money!"
And Alex, still young, started squeezing lemons,
mixing sugar, and dropping in ice cubes.

Oh, how fast it sold! And at the end of the day,
she counted up the money and sent it away,
To a Cancer Research Center.
Her money helped them a lot!

People came to trade,
Trade their money
For Alex's delicious
Lemonade.

Remember her courage, and bravery too,
And if Alex were here, she'd be thanking you!

How Can You Make a Difference?
By: Abby D.

How can you make a difference
in your neck of the woods?

How can you make a difference
in your neighborhood?

How can you make a difference
on your street?

How can you make a difference
giving a dog a treat?

How can you make a difference
by giving a high-five?

How can you make a difference
by keeping the faith alive?

I Can Make a Difference
By: Katelynn R.

I can make a difference in this world with small ideas

Can I make a difference by reading to the blind or tutoring
A donation to the cancer research, or the doctor down the road
Not only that but recycling, and turning off the sink while brushing my teeth

Making a picture to send to someone in the hospital to cheer them up
At home I can clean my room, and do my chores
Knitting sweaters for the homeless, or just for my neighbor up the road
Entertaining the elderly so they have joy in their life

And picking up garbage along the road, or help clean up the schoolyard

Doing small things like me can help the world
Instead of seating down I will do something and change the world
Finding things to do is what I am going to do
Fighting till I make a difference
Everywhere a difference should be made only you can help
Right around the corner a difference is made
Every time I do something I feel better about myself
Now I shall get outside and do something to help
Counting the things I have done so far but I will do more
Everyday goes by but I know that I can make a difference

Lemons
By Alix W

Lemons are squeezie, yellow and bright.
Small, big, medium, they come in anyway you like.
Sour and sweet…tasty to eat.
Lemons are lemons; they come in handy.
They helped a little girl named Alex.

Let’s Make a Difference
By David C.

I can make a difference by not letting the water run when I am brushing my teeth.
I can stop eating so much cattle beef.
I can turn the lights out when I am not using them,
That’s why I am writing this poem.
I can make a difference.

Making a Difference
By Mrs. Hartman’s Class

Means helping others.
Lots of smiles .
Bringing sunshine on a rainy day!

Making someone’s day better.
Sprinkling joy in hearts.
Making the choice to help.

Having a positive attitude.
Saying, “Hi, do you want to play?”
Sitting with someone who is all alone.

Decorating a card for a soldier.
Setting up a lemonade stand for Alex.
Reading a book to my brother.

Sharing a snack with my friend.
Being kind to my neighbor.
Shoveling someone’s sidewalk.

Having a caring heart.
Wanting the best for everyone!
Loving each other.

Making a difference is what YOU do!!!

Making a Difference (2)
By: Tyra

Today I go to work
Wanting to make a difference
In my community where I
Work and play

I recycle the trash that is made,
Help the elder, ask them to play,
Plant some trees, take out the weeds,

Today I go to work, knowing I made
A difference

Making a Difference: Oh Can’t You See
By: Courtney A, Utica Elementary

Making a difference
Oh can’t you see
I can help people
In need

Making a difference
Oh can’t you see
I can raise money
For charity

Making a difference
Oh can’t you see
I can be a helper
At an animal shelter

Making a difference
Oh can’t you see
I can take flowers
At visiting hours

Making a difference
Oh can’t you see
I can donate to those
Who need new clothes

Making a difference
Oh can’t you see
I can give presents
To those poor peasants

Making a difference
Oh can’t you see

WE CAN ALL HELP
IN MAKING THE WORLD
A BETTER PLACE
BY SPREADING
LOVE and PEACE
HUGS and GRACE!

Untitled
By YES Club, Ashland Elemetary

Lemon/ade
Sometime there are lemons that come our way
But making them into lemonade saves the day
Alex gathered a bunch and tossed them in the air
She made something special, made us all care
Lemons go squeeze
Lemonade please!

What Alex Made
By Yes Club

When life is a lemon we know what to do
Alex showed us how to change our view

From Lemons to Lemonade
This is what she made

When life got sour
She turned it into power

From Lemons to Lemonade
This is what she made

When life wasn’t sweet
She made this tasty treat

From Lemons to Lemonade
This is what she made

When things got down
She turned them all around

From Lemons to Lemonade
This is what she made

When things weren’t so grand
She opened her lemonade stand

From Lemons to Lemonade
This is what she made

We’re the Ashland Eagles couldn’t be prouder if you can’t hear us we shout a little louder
We’re from Lexington, we couldn’t be prouder if you can’t hear us we’ll yell a little louder
We’re from Kentucky, we couldn’t be prouder if you can’t hear us we’ll say it a little louder
We’re an Arts School we couldn’t be prouder, hope you heard us we can’t yell any louder

We Are Kids Who Will Make A BIG Difference!
By Ms. Musone's Class

We are kids, third grade students at Roundtown Elementary School.

We are little kids with big behaviors. We are polite, responsible, outstanding, understanding, and dependable. We are kids who donated food to the Catholic Harvest Food Pantry for people who can’t afford food.

We will set up a lemonade stand in our cafeteria.
We will collect school supplies to give the children in Iraq.

Paper.
Pencils.
Markers.
Crayons.
And more.

We will feel proud that we made a difference by helping others feel more comfortable.

We have pride for Alex because she was only four and she made a HUGE difference in our country.
Alex inspired us to make a difference.

We can and WILL make a difference.
You can make a difference too!
“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!”
