NBPTS is pleased to announce that funding is available through our Targeted High need Initiative program (THNI) to help offset the cost of the assessment fee in states that do not have a formal fee subsidy program and for teachers who teach in private/independent schools and are not eligible for fee subsidy money in their states. Please read the information below for specific details, deadlines and contact information.

Instructions:
• Complete the 2009-2010 National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) Candidate application online at www.nbpts.org.
• An applicant for funding assistance must first register as a candidate with NBPTS and pay the nonrefundable $500 .
• Please wait 3 business days after applying for National Board Certification before submitting an application.
• Note: We are only accepting funding requests for the 2009-20010 candidate cycle.
