2009 CIM Survey

1. Physician background

In recent years, there has been increased public interest in complementary and alternative medical options. As practitioners of "westernized" or "conventional" medicine, we may be faced with situations where our patients are using alternative medical treatments prior to or in addition to our management. We feel that it is important to have an understanding of these treatments and the ways in which they might affect our treatment recommendations.

We have designed this short survey to gain a better understanding of the role of and views towards complementary and integrative medicine (CIM) as it pertains to practicing otolaryngologist-head and neck surgeons today. There may be some alternative treatments not specified so we encourage you to use the ‘additional comments’ section at the end to clarify any answers. We also welcome suggestions and feedback in this section as well.

Thank you for your time.
