Thank you for taking the time to fill out VLCT's first annual "State of the Municipalities" survey. The answers to the questions contained in this survey will help VLCT advocacy staff better serve the needs of local government in the Statehouse during what is projecting to be one of the most difficult sessions in many, many years.

The responses will be compiled into an assessment of the fiscal condition of local government in Vermont. That assessment report will then be provided to legislators, the governor and other administration officials, and local officials. The hope is that this report can help to better frame the state's budget discussions in 2010 to ensure that state deficits and responsibilities are not simply shifted to local government and property taxpayers. That's why your responses are vital to the success of this project!
