Good Samarit-mums

Even though mums are juggling so many things - kids, work, housework, cooking - we are constantly amazed by the extra stuff mums do to help others.

In many ways, the work mums do in our communities underpins our whole society. But because it isn't seen as having a "commercial value" our work is often left unrecognised by the real world.

Introducing Netmums Mum of the Year awards: Thanks to siblu holidays, we have a free holiday for a top mum from every region of the country in our Mum of the Year Awards! That's 12 great holiday prizes to help us recognise and celebrate the great stuff mums do.

Just answer these questions and you'll be automatically entered to win one of 12 siblu family holidays in France. Each of the 12 winners will then go forward for the Mum of the Year award.

Closing date 12th December. Terms and conditions apply see www.netmums.com/mumoftheyear

Let's add up what we do here...

1. Which of these do you do on a voluntary basis?

2. Very roughly, how much time do you spend in total on these activities each week?

3. Why do you do this?

4. Can you tell us a bit more about what you do and why?

5. Traditionally it is thought that it is "housewives" who do community work (!)
Please tell us your current working status?

6. How old are your children? (tick as many as apply)

7. Where in the UK do you live?

8. Please give us your name and email address (we promise it won't be passed to anyone else)

9. Is there anything else you'd like to say about this subject or to tell us about yourself?

10. Do you know anyone else who we should consider as a Mum of the Year? Someone you know who is a role model or an inspirational mum? (Only proviso is they have a child under 16). Tell us here...

11. Might you agree to talk more about the voluntary work you do either to someone from Netmums, or someone from the media?
