--CITY TOUR DESCRIPTIONS--

Night Out in North Beach:
Travel to the Little Italy of SF and stuff your face with pasta and bread. Little Italy, aka North Beach, is the home of the best Italian food in town. Enjoy with a glass of wine then head out to enjoy the nightlife in the little town of Italy.

Volleyball/Picnic in GG Park:
Weather allowing, we’ll spend a day in Golden Gate Park having a potluck picnic and playing volleyball.

Brewery Tour:
SF is a city famous for its great breweries and this tour will introduce participants to all aspects of brewing, including history, brewing process and of course, tasting! Day will begin with an exclusive 2-hour tour of Anchor Steam Brewery in Potrero Hill. From there, we will continue on to visit 2-3 of the 8 SF Brewers Guild locations (depending on time constraints), eventually ending with food at Park/Beach Chalet on Ocean Beach.

Clubbing in SF:
Check out SF's vibrant social night life!! We'll be hitting up one of SF's premier club hot spots. There will be multiple dance rooms/levels with music ranging from hip-hop to house to dance music. And if you're not into the clubbing scene then come out and just hang out with us! Either way, it'll be a fun and unforgettable night!

Museum Tour:
Join us in two museum visits within walking distance of campus. The de Young Museum has art, architecture and the natural landscape in one multi-faceted destination that has inspired audiences from around the world. The Conservatory of Flowers has almost two thousand plant species in addition to an exciting butterfly exhibit.

Sausalito Bike Tour:
Ever biked across Golden Gate Bridge? If not, you will now! We'll rent bikes in Golden Gate Park then set off across SF's famous Golden Gate Bridge and attempt to bike to Sausalito, which is north of SF. Have no fear if you're not a bicycling enthusiast! We'll make sure that everyone in the group will be able to handle the physical demands of biking such a long distance and back to Golden Gate Park. Don't worry, we'll take numerous breaks and stop to sightsee along the way. So bring your water bottles and a sweat towel, because you'll need them!

Comedy Clubs:
Student pharmacists all agree that laughter is the best medicine! Join us for a night out in the city, starting with dinner @ a location TBA and a fun stand-up comedy show that is a guaranteed good time. The San Francisco Comedy College and Clubhouse charges $5 to $15 for admission and is BYOB for 21+.

Chinatown DimSum:
YUM, YUM and YUM! Let's get some dim sum. We'll drop by Chinatown Sunday afternoon to grab a Chinese tapas-style lunch and then explore its historical nooks and crannies.

Castro Tour:
Quite possibly San Francisco's most well known neighborhood, the Castro is the world's center for acceptance and equality. While famous for being a safe haven for lesbians, gays, bisexuals and other sexual minorities, everyone is welcome in one of the most vibrant communities of San Francisco! We'll be enjoying dinner at one of the many delicious and diverse restaurants located in the area and also getting to know each other over a few drinks

Bar Hopping Tour:
Check out some of SF's hottest nightlife spots! We'll check out various pubs and bars that UCSF students are known to frequent in various areas.
Muir Woods Hike:
Enjoy and appreciate the nature and beauty of being outdoors in the bay area through a hike through the woods with new friends. Come enjoy a mild to moderate hike surrounded by redwoods in the North Bay followed by a light lunch in Sausalito.

Napa Valley Tour:
Join us on a tranquil journey through Napa Valley's decadent and picturesque wine country! Spend the day sampling the finest selections of wine California has to offer while getting to know your fellow classmates.

Alcatraz Tour:
Take a ferry ride over to Alcatraz, and explore the grounds of the famous California prison. Cost includes an audio guide tour, and entrance into the garden.

Fisherman's Wharf / Farmer's Market:
We'll head downtown from campus where we'll hop on the F-line historic streetcar trolley which stops in front of the Ferry Building Marketplace, home of the Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market. Here we'll visit many specialty shops selling everything from wine, breads, cheese and organic fruits and vegetables to books and candles. Afterwards we'll head to Fisherman's Wharf where you can buy your SF souvenirs, postcards, watch street performers and finish off with a famous clam chowder bread bowl. Don't forget to visit the sea lions!

Peninsula Coast Tour:
Cruise down Highway 1 and explore the beautiful San Mateo Coast. We will hike along coastal trails, explore tide pools, and relax on the beaches. Other stops may include Pescadero, Half Moon Bay, Peninsula state parks, and the most beautiful Taco Bell in the world.

Exploring Richmond:
Come discover the Inner Richmond! With all of its cafes, markets, and eateries, you’re bound to find something to satisfy your palate. On top of that, the 44 runs right by the De Young and Academy of Sciences! Dinner at King of Thai Noodle followed by walking tour (aka dessert-house hopping).

Coffee & Desserts:
Join us on a coffee and dessert tour. Whether you are in the mood for Italian ice cream, Asian desserts, tapioca, French crepes, donuts, or coffee, discover some of the hidden sweet spots in the city. Come see what places are open 24 hours for those late study breaks. And for those who need a dose of caffine at any time of day, come out to taste some of these non-starbucks coffee shops.

Wine Bar Tour:
We will visit three wine bars in different neighborhoods of San Francisco. Participants will be able to taste flights of wine at a swanky downtown wine bar, lounge in an overstuffed chair in a quaint, family-owned wine bar north of union square, and visit a neighborhood wine bar which is easily accessible from campus.

Berkeley Tour:
UC Berkeley has a beautiful campus, a rich history, and it is surrounded by a vibrant and diverse community. Join a Cal alum for a tour of some of the campus landmarks and a little of the local scene, including Telegraph Avenue. If you’re new to the Bay Area, this is a good chance to get an intro to BART and Muni from a public transit addict, or perhaps you’re a Cal grad who’d like to visit your old stomping grounds and give us some suggestions of other cool spots to visit – either way, you’re welcome to come!

Poker Night:
Meet and chat with fellow classmates over a friendly game of poker (we will teach you how to play!), then enjoy a tasty dinner in the Mission. Poker is free and dinner costs $9.
