I am asking you to participate in a research study. The purpose of this study is to identify the qualities of a good public speech versus a winning competitive debate to judge whether competitive debate should be considered an activity of public speech.
INFORMATION
If you agree to participate in this study, you will be asked to identify a list of characteristics as very important, somewhat important, neutral, not as important and not important to a public speech and a competitive debate speech.
RISKS
There are no apparent physical, emotional or mental risks taking this survey. However, if at any time you feel uncomfortable answering any of the questions you may quit without consequence – look for link in top right of the page.
BENEFITS
There is no direct benefit for participating in this survey. However, I will make the results available to you in the same matter you found this survey if requested.
CONFIDENTIALITY
The information in the study records will be kept strictly confidential. Data will be stored securely in my personal computer. Nor are there any questions in the survey that identify you personally. No reference will be made in oral or written reports which could link you to the study.

There is no compensation for your participation in this study.

Your participation in this study is voluntary; you may decline to participate without penalty. If you withdraw from the study before data collection is completed your data will be destroyed.
