Give Back Beyond Building Homes & Hope in New Orleans & Guatemala in 2009!
Join Give Back Beyond as we take a trip to New Orleans Jul 25th – Aug 2nd, and/or join Give Back Beyond on our international trip to Guatemala during the first week in October (tenative). During each week long trip we will work with the local Habitat for Humanity affiliates to provide decent affordable housing for families in need.
The team (approx 160 people for NOLA & 40 people for Guat) will be spending 5 days building homes working from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily. We will have opportunities to engage with the local culture and also have a lot of fun with an amazing team of volunteers..this is your quintessential work hard - play hard trip.
Please be aware that we will be doing hard physical labor, but it will be more rewarding than you can ever imagine. The cost of the trip is will include transportation to/from/around your destination, Hotel, and Breakfast/Lunch. There will may be additional costs associated with evening activities/meals, if you choose to take part.
We expect the trip to be $500/person (NOLA) and $1900 (Guat) for the entire week long trip (excluding some optional R&R activities).
For NOLA a deposit of $150 will be due at the kick-off meeting, March 19. Full cost of the trip will be due May 13. For Guatemala a deposit of $250 will be due upon confirmation of the team in late March.
Give Back Cincinnati will assist in a targeted fundraising event for each trip as well as provide plenty of suggestions for fundraising and an on-line location for you to direct donors. By signing-up you are committing to your ability to fund the full amount of the trip.
VERYONE is expected to participate in the planning of this trip in the months leading up to it. There will be other pre-trip meetings (~monthly) that you are expected to attend and participate in...service travel is not a spectator sport.
