1. Introduction and Instructions

Holy Family University is presently assessing student outcomes to direct its educational programs for continued excellence in education.

As an institution, Holy Family University has consistently assessed student outcomes through comprehensive examinations, required of students in their last semester of senior year. As a culminating measure, the comprehensive examination and other assessment findings have validated the knowledge and skills necessary for students’ chosen professions.

Presently, the university will more broadly assess graduating students on six outcomes generated from the University Mission and Core Values. Six characteristics from the core values were identified as expected student outcomes. These student characteristics include the ability to think critically, demonstrate a sense of social consciousness, display a global perspective, communicate effectively, use technology competently, and demonstrate a strong sense of spiritual and ethical commitment.

Through ongoing interactions with students, faculty, and the broader community, the university believes strongly that graduating students possess these characteristics. What is now required by accrediting agencies is to demonstrate, through aggregate data, the level at which the graduating student body can demonstrate these characteristics.

To advance these assessment efforts, the university asks you to read and complete the attached survey. Please read the directions carefully and respond as directed.
